CRCT Week: April 20th-24th, 2009

It's CRCT time.  The children have worked so hard this year and I know they are going to do their BEST!!  A few reminders for this week to make testing go as smoothly as possible:

C:  Come          R:  Ready             C:  Come on          T:  Time

*Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep.
*Be sure to feed them a HEALTHY breakfast.
*Make sure your child is in the classroom by 7:45 so he/she will feel rushed and will have time to relax before getting started.  If your child arrives to school late, they will not be allowed in the classroom until after all tests are completed for the day.
*Bring in 2 sharpened number 2 pencils.  NO mechanical ones are allowed.
*Send in a water bottle with your child.
*A nutritional snack will be provided each day.  NO need to send in a snack.
*Encourage your child to be a good listener and take his/her time.

Thanks for sending in a good luck card for your child.  I know they are truly going to appreciate you thinking of them.  Also, thanks to all of the parents for sending in a special CRCT snack.  I appreciate ALL that you do.

The REAL McCoy: Highlights for the week of April 13th-17th, 2009

Happy Spring !!  Now if the weather would only cooperate. I don't know about you all, but I am so ready for some nice, warm weather.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break.

CRCT:
We are going to be very busy this week getting ready for the CRCT. It is only 6 days away and I know the children are going to do their very best. Please make sure your child has a good night's sleep and a nutritious breakfast and snack everyday of testing.  More information about testing week ( April 21, 22, 23) will be coming home at the end of this week.

SKILLS TUTOR:
Hopefully everyone has gotten a chance to watch their child try out the new Skills Tutor program.  We went to the computer lab before spring break and the children were able to try out several different activities.  They really seemed to have a lot of fun with this new program.  Over the summer it can be used for both enrichment and review. Please encourage your child to participate in this program!!

FUN RUN:
The annual Kincaid Fun Run will be held this Saturday morning, April 18th.  I hope everyone who wants to participate has signed up and ordered a t-shirt.

STICKER SALES:
Sticker sales for the relay for life Kickball Game will be sold in the cafeteria before school on April 15, 16, 17, & 20. The class who purchased the most stickers will get to sit in the front row at the annual 5th grade vs. staff kickball game.  This is a lot of fun and the students love to see their teachers out there playing.

FIELD TRIP:
Look for permission forms for our upcoming field trip to be coming home soon.

I hope everyone has a great week!
