A Big Thank You!

Thank you all for making me and Mrs. Gumbel feel so special during Teacher Appreciation Week. It was such a special treat.

Character Education Winner

                        

Congratulations to Ellia for being chosen as our Character Ed winner for the word Accomplishment in the month of April.   Ellia has accomplished so much this year including being a wonderful student. Ellia is one of the youngest students in our class but she performs and keeps up with even the oldest.  She has made huge strides this year.  We are very proud of her.  Way to go Ellia!!

Sight Word for the Week

The week of May 11th our sight words book is called, Seeds.  The sight word is they.  The children will fill in the word on each page and then read them together.  They will read them to a teacher and then bring it home to read to their family. 

Math: Subtraction

 We are continuing with Subtraction along with measuring, graphing, and problem solving math centers the week of May 11th.

Library Days!!

We no longer visit the media center to check out books so keep reading by visiting your public library.  The children all love to get a new book each week to read and have read to them.  Keep that love for reading alive. 

Theme Study- Plants

We will study plants and the parts of the plant.  The children are doing their last writing for our writing assessment on how to plant a flower.  We have been practicing this type of writing and all the children have really done well. 

The children will each plant their own sunflower in a cup and then come home to transplant in your yard.  I asked them to take a picture of them with their sunflower in the fall if it really grows tall.  We read The Tallest Sunflower so they all are hoping to have the tallest one.

The children will add their last poem to their poetry folder and bring it home this Friday for good.  Please enjoy the poems together for years to come.

The children will also get to choose a class book for a keepsake of their kindergarten class.  We may have enough for each child to get 2.
